The General Assembly of the Association of Portuguese-speaking Olympic Committees (ACOLOP), which took place on October 29 at the Miragem Hotel in Cascais, Lisbon, was a time to define the organisation's new direction for the coming years, following its re-founding in Lisbon in April and other structural changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting began with ACOLOP members paying tribute to the former President of the Portuguese Olympic Committee, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Constantino, who died on 11 August 2024. The representatives of the nine members present held a minute's silence in memory of the life and work of this illustrious figure in the Olympic movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This meeting marks major changes in the organisation for the coming years after its re-foundation in April 2024 with headquarters in Lisbon (see more ACOLOP has new headquarters in Portugal - ACOLOP<\/a>), the changes to the Statutes (see more New Statutes: What changes? - ACOLOP<\/a>) and the swearing-in of the Governing Bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Activities Plan for 2025 and the specifications for the Lusophone Games were also approved (see more).
