The ceremony was attended by Jo\u00e3o Costa Alegre, vice-president of the Association of Portuguese-speaking Olympic Committees (ACOLOP) and president of the S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe Olympic Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/acolop.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Presidente-COGE.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/acolop.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Presidente-COGE.jpg 720w, https:\/\/acolop.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Presidente-COGE-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/acolop.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Presidente-COGE-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/acolop.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Presidente-COGE-12x12.jpg 12w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Owono's candidacy was widely supported, with the endorsement of more than 20 national sports federations, which highlighted his leadership and commitment to the development of sport in the country. During his previous term, Owono implemented initiatives to modernise sports structures and promote excellence among athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the new term, the re-elected president proposes holding a National Sports Conference, aimed at dialogue between federations, coaches and athletes to tackle the challenges facing the sector.
