ACOLOP celebrates 20 years with Open Talk in Cape Verde

The Association of Portuguese-speaking Olympic Committees (ACOLOP) celebrated its 20th anniversary on 8 June 2024 with the Open Talk "Achievements and challenges: 20 years of ACOLOP", at the end of the day at the Panorama space in Praia, Cape Verde.

The event brought together human resources planning expert Pedro Castaño, ACOLOP president Filomena Fortes and sports journalist Marcos "Xuster" Fonseca, moderated by Leonardo Cunha, ACOLOP's Executive Director.

The Open Talk was attended by the participants of the 3rd edition of the Sport Accelerator Lab, some illustrious figures from the Olympic movement, such as sports activist Orlando Mascarenhas, and ACOLOP vice-presidents João Costa Alegre and Sérgio Mané, as well as the president of the Equatorial Guinea Olympic Committee, Alejandro Martin Owono.

The event was also broadcast live via ACOLOP's facebook account.

The opening of the new headquarters in Portugal, the desire to resume the Lusophone Games and closer relations with the 12 member committees were all part of the plans for future actions during this anniversary year.
