Deadline Extended! NOCs Can Apply to Receive the CLC Until 31 March

TAFISA has announced the extension of the deadline for National Olympic Committees (NOCs) to submit their application to host the TAFISA Certified Leadership Course (CLC) in 2025/2026. This initiative aims to strengthen leadership and management skills in the context of Sport for All, promoting sustainable, inclusive and resilient sporting communities at a global level.

About CLC

TAFISA's CLC promotes leadership development on four levels: individual, community, organisational and systemic. Course participants will have the opportunity to hone their skills in key areas such as inclusion, sustainability and leadership in Sport for All. In addition, the course encourages the creation of community development projects adapted to local needs.

The programme is structured on two levels:

  • Level 1Introduction to fundamental concepts and practical skills;
  • Level 2Advanced approach focused on the themes of Mission 2030, providing in-depth strategies and global perspectives.

This course is aligned with key global agendas, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the IOC's Olympism365 Strategy and the UNESCO Fit for Life initiative.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested NOCs must demonstrate a commitment to:

  • Leadership Development: Promoting leadership in Sport for All at national and regional level;
  • Training: Strengthening its affiliated organisations and stakeholders (national federations, ministries, NGOs, among others);
  • Promoting grassroots sportDevelopment of community sports programmes that encourage healthy and inclusive lifestyles.

Application process

NOCs must submit their application online by 31 March. The process includes sending general information about the organisation, its commitment to the programme and the implementation strategy.

  • Implementation period: September 2025 - August 2026

Applications will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Alignment with TAFISA's vision and mission;
  • Operational and logistical capacity;
  • Commitment to gender equality and inclusion;
  • Post-event legacy and sustainability plan;
  • Strategic and geographical importance;
  • Innovative approaches and local relevance;
  • Quality and clarity of the detailed execution plan.

Support and Funding

NOCs selected to host the CLC will be able to apply for funding through Olympic Solidarity's (OS) Worldwide Olympic Values Programme. Funding can support the organisation and delivery of the course, ensuring a significant impact on leadership development in Sport for All.

  • The application for Olympic Solidarity funding will take place at a later stage, after the preliminary review of the applications submitted to TAFISA.
  • The selected NOCs will be encouraged to submit their applications for funding via the Olympic Solidarity Relay platform.
  • Technical and financial reports must be submitted on the same platform.
