ACOLOP and the Sports Foundation formalise strategic partnership

The Association of Portuguese-speaking Olympic Committees (ACOLOP) and the Sports Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Lisbon today, 27 March 2025, to promote and deepen collaboration between the two organisations.

The document was signed by the president of ACOLOP's Executive Committee, Filomena Fortes, and the president of the Sports Foundation's Board of Directors, Susana Feitor, accompanied by vice-president Anabela Reis.

Among the main areas of co-operation highlighted in the memorandum are the joint promotion of the development of sport, including initiatives in the areas of health, education, qualification and professional training, as well as the strengthening of citizenship. Another key point is collaboration on preventing and combating violence in sport.

The operationalisation of this strategic partnership will rely on a monitoring group made up of ACOLOP's Executive Director, Leonardo Cunha, and the heads of the Sports Foundation's Executive Committee.

This agreement represents a significant step in the joining of forces between organisations that share common goals, namely the dissemination of Olympic values, the increase in the practice of sport and the promotion of the Portuguese language and culture in a sporting context.
