ACOLOP members actively participate in Etica Summit 2023

From 8 to 10 September, the latest edition of the Etica Summit brought together a vast virtual audience, with more than 3,000 registrants from various regions, including Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, Cape Verde, East Timor and Portugal. The event, held entirely online and free of charge, featured three days of intense discussions in more than 20 sessions, involving more than 60 participants.

The highlight of the event was the active participation of members of the Association of Portuguese Speaking Olympic Committees (ACOLOP). The President of ACOLOP, Filomena Fortes, and the Vice-President of the Supervisory Board, Mário Rosa, were notable presences at the Etica Summit, contributing their experience and perspectives on ethics in the world of sports.

In addition, several members of the Olympic Committees associated with ACOLOP took part as panellists, further enriching the discussions on ethical issues in sport. This participation demonstrated ACOLOP's commitment to promoting ethics and Olympic values in the Lusophone sports community.

ACOLOP's Executive Director, Leonardo Cunha, also attended the event, emphasising the importance of ethics in sport and the fundamental role that ACOLOP plays in promoting these values among Portuguese-speaking countries.

The Etica Summit 2023 had an Honour Committee, an Institutional Support Committee and more than 30 Ambassadors, including Olympic athletes and renowned coaches from all over the Portuguese-speaking world. These sports leaders contributed to making the event a valuable forum for ethical discussions and continuous improvement in the world of sport.

The Etica Summit, with its comprehensive programme and the presence of prominent ACOLOP members, demonstrated the commitment of the Lusophone sports community to promoting ethics and Olympic values, reinforcing the importance of constructive and collaborative debates in this vital sector.
