President of the Association of Portuguese-speaking Olympic Committees (ACOLOP) and the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee (COC), Filomena Forteswas appointed to the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Working Group of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
As a member of the IOC, the Cape Verdean leader will now contribute to assessing the potential and relevance of the YOG, as well as to the process of selecting the host country for the 2030 edition.
The appointment, made by IOC President Kirsty Coventry, is part of the strategic programme "Fit For The FutureIt also set up new working groups to align decisions and strengthen the future of the Olympic Movement.
This distinction represents an important recognising capeverdean leadershipand reinforcing Cape Verde's presence in the major decisions that shape world sport. 🇨🇻
