The Association of Portuguese-Speaking National Olympic Committees (ACOLOP) is taking part in the Milan-Cortina Games, the opening ceremony of which took place on 6 February, with three of its member countries taking part: Brazil, Portugal and Guinea-Bissau, which sent their delegations.
Brazil is represented by 15 athletes, whilst Portugal is competing with 3 athletes; Guinea-Bissau is taking part with 1 athlete in the alpine skiing event, marking its debut at the Winter Games.
The participation of these countries highlights the spirit of unity and cooperation within the Portuguese-speaking community in sport. Guinea-Bissau’s debut marks a historic moment for the country and for ACOLOP.
As part of ACOLOP’s participation in the Milan-Cortina Games, President Filomena Fortes had the opportunity to visit the Brazilian House.
Their joint participation reinforces ACOLOP’s commitment to promoting sport and the values of inclusion, solidarity and sharing amongst its members.
