The Association of Portuguese-Speaking National Olympic Committees (ACOLOP) welcomes the appointment of Dr Filomena Fortes to the Executive Board of the International Federation of Sport for All (FISpT), a recognition that reinforces the presence and influence of the Portuguese-speaking community on the international sporting scene.
In addition to this appointment, Dr Filomena Fortes has also been nominated as an individual member of FISpT; her admission is subject to formal confirmation at the next General Assembly, in accordance with the Federation’s statutes.

As a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Filomena Fortes has played an active role in promoting Olympic values and the development of sport worldwide. Throughout her career, she has served on various IOC commissions, including the Sport and Active Society Commission, the Olympic Education Commission, the Co-ordination Commission for the Games of the XXXIV Olympiad – Los Angeles 2028, the Commission for Future Host Cities of the Olympic Games and the Commission for Sustainability and Legacy.
He is currently also a member of the IOC’s Olympism365 Commission, an initiative dedicated to promoting sport as a tool for sustainable development, social inclusion and the well-being of communities.
ACOLOP congratulates Dr Filomena Fortes on this important honour, which recognises her leadership and dedication to the Olympic Movement and the development of Sport for All, and wishes her every success in her new role at FISpT.
